PA12 specimen flexural modulus (ASTM D790-15)

What powder sintering offers

The modulus describes specimen stiffness in a test. Fixture deflection also depends on length, cross-section, supports and clamping force. Repeatable holes require assessment of mounting, bushing clearance and wear at your workstation.

PA12 Material Data Sheet

What this process cannot do here

No fine print

  • We do not manufacture load-bearing furniture parts: legs, shelf supports, or hinges carrying door weight.
  • We do not produce visible hardware with a furniture finish. The sintered surface is matte and grainy, and deep coloring produces a different effect than lacquer.
  • We do not manufacture food-contact parts: worktops or kitchen accessories that come into contact with food.
  • A long fixture is checked in PreForm with orientation and material. Splitting it can affect stiffness and hole spacing; we agree the split with you or suggest another manufacturing approach.
  • We do not reproduce veneers or wood grain. Contact with veneer, lacquer or board should be checked on a trial part.

How your project moves forward

  1. Drawing or the partState hole spacing, tolerances and measurement datums. Include a drawing or existing fixture.
  2. Series estimatePrinting is estimated from a finished file. Bushings, finishing and geometry preparation are agreed separately.
  3. Trial partTrial-part scope is agreed in the quote; you check it at the workstation before the series.
  4. Series in the next buildWe schedule the series after the fit check. Lead time 5–14 business days is confirmed in the quote.

What the quotation covers

Fixtures need no mould. The calculator shows the full unit price including the minimum and preparation spread over the series. SLS quantity discounts start at 100 parts; the lead-time option also affects the price.

What to prepare for a quote

  • Spacing and datums

Drawing or existing fixture, hole spacing, tolerances and measurement datums. State file units, board thickness and the mating fitting.

  • Operation and bushings

Describe drilling, milling or positioning, clamping force and use frequency. Include bushing dimensions, installation method and mounting location.

  • Contact and trial part

Identify veneer or lacquer contact, visible surfaces and variant quantities. State the deadline and how you will check a trial part at the workstation.

Send what you have. We will clarify the remaining details when reviewing your enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

How long will such a template last?

PA12 data does not establish a number of holes. Wear depends on the drill, clamping, mounting and bushings. Steel bushing selection and installation are agreed before printing; you check the fixture in your operation.

Can you manage without a drawing?

Send photos with a ruler and the operation description, or an existing template. We assess which spacings need measurement and whether scanning is needed. Modelling is quoted separately; you confirm datums and critical dimensions before printing.

Is this suitable for visible hardware?

We can assess a trial collection part against your surface reference. Sintered PA12 has a matte, grainy texture; we do not offer furniture-grade finishing or veneer reproduction.

What is the smallest sensible batch size?

We also quote a single part. SLS B2B has a PLN 299.00 net minimum and PLN 150.00 net preparation fee for a new file. Compare full costs at different quantities in the calculator; viability is assessed for your fixture.

Does the calculator include fixture design?

The calculator estimates printing from a finished file. The separately shown new-file preparation fee does not include designing a fixture from a drawing. Geometry reconstruction, model changes, bushings and additional finishing are agreed in an individual quote.

How do we confirm hole spacing?

Mark measurement datums, spacing tolerances and important holes on the drawing. Measurement and finishing scope are confirmed in the quote. Check the trial part with your workpiece and tool at the workstation before approving the series.
