Clear Resin V5
Transparent resin for covers and flow models.
We use Clear V5 for viewing the inside of a part and for lighting prototypes. Clarity depends on thickness, orientation and surface finish. We agree the polishing scope and expected appearance before printing.

Typical applications
353 × 196 × 350 mm
- Covers with internal viewing areas
- Demonstration flow channels and chambers
- Lighting prototypes for shape assessment
- Silicone mould patterns with an agreed finish
Supports and orientation are selected for the geometry. Support removal may leave marks, so specify viewing surfaces and critical fits in your enquiry.
Selecting for an application
+ Material features
- Transmits light; viewing surfaces can receive further finishing.
- A stiff material for assessing the shape of covers and housings.
- Can be used for a channel or chamber model to observe flow.
- A finish sample helps assess visibility through the intended wall thickness.
− What needs assessment
- Table transmission values describe test specimens. Visibility through the finished wall needs a separate assessment.
- Snap-fits and flexing features need assembly trials. Elongation at break does not establish cyclic life.
- Describe chemical, heat and UV exposure in the enquiry. Specimen immersion results do not establish part service life.
- We make optical models for shape assessment. Lenses with specified optical performance are outside our service scope.

Values with test standards

| Property | Value | Test standard |
|---|---|---|
| Tensile Strength | 60 MPa | ASTM D638-14 |
| Modulus of Elasticity in Tension | 2 750 MPa | ASTM D638-14 |
| Elongation at Break | 8% | ASTM D638-14 |
| Flexural Strength | 105 MPa | ASTM D790-15 |
| Flexural Modulus | 2 700 MPa | ASTM D790-15 |
| Notched Izod impact strength | 29 J/m | ASTM D256-10 |
Test preparation: Manufacturer's test specimens: Form 4, 100 µm layers; 5 min wash in Form Wash, IPA ≥99%; 15 min post-cure at 60 °C in Form Cure V1. Production settings for Form 4L are agreed separately.
Thermal properties
Heat deflection testing

| Property | Value | Test standard |
|---|---|---|
| HDT at 1.8 MPa | 59 °C | ASTM D648-16 |
| HDT at 0.45 MPa | 74 °C | ASTM D648-16 |
These values describe specimens post-cured under the conditions beside the table. Curing changes properties; not every value increases. HDT describes specimen deflection under the stated load. We assess part operating temperature with its geometry, load and exposure time.

Transmission testing

| Property | Value | Test standard |
|---|---|---|
| Light Transmission at 2 mm | 85% | ASTM D1003-21 |
| Light transmission at 10 mm | 59% | ASTM D1003-21 |
Manufacturer results describe specimens with the stated thickness and preparation. Transmission measures the amount of light passing through. Image clarity through a finished part also depends on surface, shape and orientation; we assess it on a finish sample.
