50 MPa

PA12 specimen ultimate tensile strength (ASTM D638 Type 1)

What powder sintering offers

50 MPa is a specimen result, not allowable stress or prototype service life. Geometry, orientation and operating conditions affect the part. Trial scope and assessment criteria are agreed before producing variants.

What this process cannot do here

No fine print

  • If the production run is injection molded, a sintered prototype checks the housing and grip but does not replace the tooling trial. Shrinkage behaves differently in that case.
  • We do not declare one tolerance for an entire model. Identify critical dimensions, datums and clearances; inspection and trial-fit scope are agreed before printing.
  • We do not conduct tests: fire, aging, or certification. We provide numbers from the datasheet and state what is missing from it.
  • We do not accept prototypes of safety-critical parts, nor as a single test-only unit.

How your project moves forward

  1. Model and revisionSTL, 3MF or STEP. State units, revision and mating surfaces.
  2. Variants and quantitiesIdentify files and quantity per variant. Build layout is assessed for the set.
  3. Your trialTrial purpose, conditions and criteria are confirmed in the quote. Check the part in its installation.
  4. Series revisionConfirm model and quantities after the trial. Changes and adjustment scope are quoted separately.

What the quotation covers

The indicative price depends on model volume, material and finishing. Preparation of a new file: PLN 150.00 net. The calculator spreads the minimum and preparation over the series; SLS discounts start at 100 parts.

What to prepare for a quote

  • Trial purpose and criteria

State what you are testing: fit, motion, load or appearance. Include measurable assessment criteria, forces, temperature, duration or cycle count.

  • Model and revisions

Model or drawing, units and revision per variant. Mark datums, tolerances, mating surfaces and planned orientation if already agreed.

  • Variants and acceptance

Quantity per variant, date and intended series process. State the fit-check and inspection method; production, measurements and adjustment scope are agreed separately.

Send what you have. We will clarify the remaining details when reviewing your enquiry.

How to order

I have a 3D model

Upload your model and choose the parameters. SLS and FDM prices are indicative; an engineer quotes SLA.

Frequently asked questions

What makes this win over an FDM prototype?

SLS sinters powder instead of depositing filament tracks. It still builds layers: PA12 elongation at break is 11% in X/Y and 6% in Z. We choose orientation for the load; the process does not guarantee freedom from cracking.

How do we compare a trial part with the series?

Agree revision, material, orientation, finishing and dimensions to inspect. The same machine does not guarantee identical parts. One trial result does not confirm the whole series; acceptance scope is agreed before production.

How many variants fit in one load?

The calculator estimates copies of one model, not a mixed build of variants. Files, orientations and quantities are checked in PreForm with 5 mm spacing. Build count and preparation of each revision are confirmed in the quote.

What happens to our files?

Files are kept privately and remain available for 90 days from the enquiry. After that, they are scheduled for deletion during housekeeping. We agree an NDA before you first send files.

When is it better to use resin?

Consider SLA for visible surfaces and fine detail. Selection also depends on forces, temperature, duration and the series process. Assess the specific resin data and a part trial separately; the process name alone is insufficient.

How do we define the outcome of a prototype trial?

State function, conditions, forces, duration or cycles, and fit and function criteria. Identify variants and inspection dimensions. Production, measurement and adjustment scope are agreed in the quote; we do not perform certification testing.
