TPU 90A specimen compression set at 23 °C (ASTM D395-18 B)

Why SLS for this part

At 70 °C the manufacturer reports 59.9% in the same compression test. Specimen results do not establish landing count or vibration-damping performance. State mounting deflection, equipment mass and temperature; assessment requires a trial.

What this process cannot do here

No fine print

  • We do not make load-bearing parts for aircraft flying over people, regardless of timing or price.
  • We do not produce drive system components that transmit torque from the rotor to the shaft.
  • We do not declare UV resistance or service life. Describe sunlight and operating conditions; trial scope is agreed for the part.
  • We do not estimate stiffness by eye. Without information on what needs to flex and what must hold, we select the powder together with you.
  • We do not produce anything intended for profit-making equipment without discussing liability.
  • We do not reproduce manufacturer frame markings or their logos.

How your project moves forward

  1. Photos or the broken partFor a frame adapter, the frame plate helps us measure mounting-hole spacing.
  2. Powder selectionState mass, forces and required deflection. PA12, PA11 or TPU 90A selection follows assessment.
  3. Trial partTrial-assembly and adjustment scope are agreed in the quote. Check the part in your installation.
  4. Selected quantityChoose quantities after checking the trial part; geometry changes and further printing are agreed.

What the quotation covers

Private customers have no minimum order. PA11 and TPU 90A are quoted individually. The ranges below cover geometry reconstruction; printing is quoted separately after model review.

3D Scanning · EinScan Rigil

We measure worn parts instead of guessing

Photographs with a ruler help assess scope. Simple dimensions can be measured manually; we consider scanning for free-form surfaces. Wear is recorded as the part's condition; reconstruction dimensions are agreed separately.

What remains with you

  • MeshRecords accessible surfaces in their current condition, including wear. A mesh can be edited, but has no operation history or dimensions from a parametric CAD model.
  • Solid modelReconstructs geometry using scans, measurements and available documentation. We agree critical dimensions and assumptions; a parametric model is created where possible.
  • Deviation reportComparison with supplied CAD: a deviation map on scanned surfaces and agreed sections. We agree inspection scope and alignment datums before work; unseen areas remain outside measurement.

What to prepare for a quote

  • Frame and mount

Frame model, hole spacing, datums, units and equipment dimensions. Include both mating parts or drawings; mark tolerances and mounting location.

  • Deflection and exposure

Mounted equipment mass, mounting deflection, forces and vibration. State temperature, duration and sunlight; include available vibration measurements.

  • Trial and variants

Part mass limit, variants, quantity and date. Describe trial-assembly criteria in the installation. Material selection, model and adjustment scope are agreed in the quote.

Send what you have. We will clarify the remaining details when reviewing your enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Which powder for camera mounting?

We consider PA12 for a rigid mount and TPU 90A for flexibility. Notched Izod is 71 J/m for PA11 and 32 J/m for PA12 (ASTM D256-10), measured on specimens. Mount impact and vibration behaviour require a trial in your installation.

Can you make an adapter between the frame and a foreign handle?

Send both parts or drawings with units, hole spacing, datums and tolerances. Photos help assess scope; fitted holes need measurements. Material, model and trial-fit scope are agreed in the quote.

How much does such a part weigh compared to one printed from filament?

Compare mass for the same geometry and infill; the PA12 calculator assumes 1.01 g/cm³. SLS also builds layers. Orientation and material affect impact behaviour, which needs testing.

I have a file from the network. Will you print it?

Send the file if its licence permits printing. We assess mesh, size and powder-removal access. PA11 and TPU 90A require an individual quote; selecting the material does not provide an automatic price.

Will a damper recover after repeated impacts?

TPU specimen compression set is not a repeated-landing test. Behaviour depends on geometry, deflection, duration and temperature. We do not declare an impact count; trial scope and assessment criteria are agreed with you.

How do we check camera vibration damping?

State camera mass, mounting and pad deflection. Include vibration measurements if available. Test in your own installation; specimen stiffness and Shore hardness alone do not establish damping performance.
