PA12 elongation at break in X/Y and Z axes, ASTM D638

Why SLS for this part

These elongation values show that print orientation matters. We ask about the load direction before reproducing the tooth profile; the datasheet describes test specimens, not the life of your gear.

PA12 Material Data Sheet

What this process cannot do here

No fine print

  • We will not replace a steel pulley transmitting high torque.
  • PA12 HDT is 87 °C at 1.8 MPa in the test. We decline loaded gears above 87 °C. Below that temperature, we also assess load and operating duration.
  • We do not produce wheels for steering systems, braking systems, or lifting people.
  • We do not reproduce manufacturer markings and logos.
  • For a module below approx. 1 mm, the tooth profile goes to SLA or machining.

How your project moves forward

  1. Photos or the gearSend tooth count, diameter, face width and hub bore, or send the gear by courier.
  2. Reconstruct the profileWe recreate a parametric model from the calculated gear module.
  3. Trial partBacklash is chosen for dry-running or lubricated operation.
  4. Shared buildShared B2B build: 10–14 business days, 8% discount. We confirm timing and price for the ready model.

What the quotation covers

Gear printing and profile reconstruction are quoted separately. SLS B2B minimum: PLN 299.00 net; preparation of a new file: PLN 150.00 net. A single gear for a private customer is quoted from photos.

3D Scanning · EinScan Rigil

We measure worn parts instead of guessing

Photographs with a ruler help assess scope. Simple dimensions can be measured manually; we consider scanning for free-form surfaces. Wear is recorded as the part's condition; reconstruction dimensions are agreed separately.

What remains with you

  • MeshRecords accessible surfaces in their current condition, including wear. A mesh can be edited, but has no operation history or dimensions from a parametric CAD model.
  • Solid modelReconstructs geometry using scans, measurements and available documentation. We agree critical dimensions and assumptions; a parametric model is created where possible.
  • Deviation reportComparison with supplied CAD: a deviation map on scanned surfaces and agreed sections. We agree inspection scope and alignment datums before work; unseen areas remain outside measurement.

What to prepare for a quote

  • Teeth and hub

Photos of the whole gear, teeth and bore with a ruler. Module and tooth count help if known.

  • Gearbox

The mating gear, shaft mounting and wear location. Describe torque or the drive function.

  • Operating conditions

Speed, temperature at the gear, operating duration and lubrication. Include quantity and timing.

Send what you have. We will clarify the remaining details when reviewing your enquiry.

How to order

I need a model

Attach photos with a ruler or a drawing. Describe the application; model preparation is quoted separately.

Send photos and a description

I have a 3D model

Upload your model and choose the parameters. SLS and FDM prices are indicative; an engineer quotes SLA.

Frequently asked questions

I have two pieces left. Is that enough?

Usually yes, as we read the tooth count from the rim fragment. Please send both pieces, not just one.

Does it last as long as the original?

Replacement durability requires assessment of geometry and operating conditions. State torque, speed, temperature and lubrication. We agree how the trial gear will be checked before producing a batch.

What tooth clearance do you specify?

This depends on dry or lubricated operation and the mating gear's material. Therefore, please provide a photo of the entire assembly.

Is this legal?

Reproduction depends on rights in the part. The repair clause concerns certain design rights; it is not a general licence to copy and does not override patents. We do not reproduce logos. We clarify unclear rights before work starts.

How long does it take?

We agree measurement and profile reconstruction timing after assessing the gear. Printing from a ready model takes 10–14 business days in shared-build mode or 5–10 business days in standard mode, from order confirmation. Build availability, fit checks and any adjustments are agreed in the quotation.
